Care for Our Own Well Construction Programme

The 21st October 2008 is a date that people of the Galganuwa, Meegalawa, Padawigama villages in the Anuradhapura District will remember for some time to come. On this day T&S Buttons Lanka finished constructing a large well of 15ft diameter, which now brings potable water to these hard working and long suffering folk, including some of our own employees. For these grateful villagers, it was a godsend as T&S Buttons ended a long period of difficulty in obtaining water. Since the establishment of the villages in 1977, many unsuccessful efforts were made to overcome an acute problem to provide this basic need. The villagers were compelled to travel four kilometers to access the nearest source of clean water. Now, 1500 villagers benefit from this project, with significant improvement in their daily lives.

Elevate the facilities of Kaduboda Maha Vidyalaya

T & S Buttons Lanka (Pvt) Ltd as a group company of the largest apparel exporter Brandix along with Avery Denisson (the global leader in labeling) successfully completed a CSR project to elevate the sanitary facilities of Kaduboda Maha Vidyalaya in Delgoda, Kalaniya. This is a 100 years old school in Kalaniya area and currently has 350 students.

An elevated water tank (30 feet high), a new block of toilets, new wash rooms and repairs on abandoned toilets were done and handed over to students on 7th March 2013. For the ceremonial opening, all officials from Brandix CSR, T & S Buttons Lanka and Avery Denisson were warmly welcomed by the students and teachers.

Further, the supports to the school by both corporate sector entities do not end there as plans are underway to donate computers and help to uplift the skills levels of the student through skill development programme.
